Как сообщает Гуглоблог, вчера была запущена улучшенная версия поиска по блогам. Сам механизм поиска остался неизменным, а вот первая страница изменилась до неузнаваемости. Вместо стандартного гуглокна, мы видим список самых популярных тем из блогосферы. На данным момент доступна только английская версия нового поиска. Вот так это выглядит сейчас:

Чем больше блогов написали про сиськи-письки, тем выше эта тема будет находится на страничке блогопоиска. Открывается неплохой простор для флешмобов, так как для того, что бы тема попала на первое место пока достаточно 600-700 постов в блогах.

Баркемперы!
Скоро начнется новый цикл баркемпов в Восточной Европе и Центральной Азии! Нет, я не сошел с ума, чтобы рассказывать о мировых циклах

Дело в том, что приближается следующий Блогкемп в Киеве, с которого все начиналось в 2007 году. Тогда его инициаторы поставили перед собой задачу заразить баркемповским движением постсоветские страны, и судя по количеству групп, в которые пошло это сообщение, задача выполнена:)

В этом году конференция называется Blogcamp CEE 2008. Три непонятные буквы значат Central and Eastern Europe. Да, в этом году мы приглашаем не только восточноевропейцев, но и наших ближайших западных соседей.

Usain Bolt sets world Record in Men’s 100m Final – 9.69 sec

Очередной скандал в Пекине. Усэйн Болт, уж не знаю какая на Ямайке фармакология, установил новый мировой рекорд в беге на 100 метров – 9.69. А до этого на 200. Но не в том суть. Основной шум в том, что было явно видно, что бегун нормально пробежал только 75 метров, а дальше начал притормаживать и кривляться. И при этом установив мировой рекорд. По оценкам специалистов пробежать он мог и за 9,50. Я конечно понимаю, что на честную борьбу и светлые идеалы олимпийского движения в Пекине всем какать, а за рекорды платят деньги и немалые. Поэтому добавлять Болт будет по одной-две сотые. То есть станет Исамбаевой в беге, которая открыта заявляет что может улучшить рекорд в прыжках с шестом и на 20 сантиметров, но она не такая богатая. Я одного не пойму, что у него за наркота, что не один допинг контроль не берет?

Станислав Олияр: воткните себе вилку в ж..у

Известный латвийский легкоатлет, чемпион Европы Станислав Олияр в своем блоге отвечает интернет троллям:

Так вот совет тем умникам, которые пишут в интернет-комментариях, что, мол надо было через боль и прочее – попробуйте, воткните себе вилку в ж..у и пробегите на время хотя бы метров 50. Спринт – это не игровой вид, где можно за счет других факторов на поле действовать, спринт – это сотые доли секунды. Или Лю Сянь тоже лох безвольный? Плюнул на миллиард человек и сошел.

В комментариях к записи встречаются и более жесткие слова от лица Олияра, но подтвердить то что их действительно написал Олияр, невозможно. Делфи – все-таки жутко отстали от жизни со своей системой а ля двадцатый век.

Формула на воде

Вчера посетил этап Кубка мира по водно-моторному спорту в классе лодок F2, которые называют еще водной Формулой-1. Гонки проходили в Риге, в самом центре города. Довольно интересное зрелище, лодки носятся очень быстро, и пару гонщиков умудрились перевернуть свои болиды. Победили в гонках два английских брата, которые судя по всему всегда в них побеждают. Все бы хорошо, вот только комментатор гонок бы лузер жуткий. Постоянно путался и нес бред.

Сделал несколько фотографий, телефоном, поэтому качество очень плохое, но в общем дух мероприятия передают:

Latvia’s amazing tournament has ended with a bronze medal after they beat Lithuania 74-72 in the last second of the most finely balanced game of the tournament.

Lithuania led from the start of the third quarter until just 19 seconds remained in the game before Latvia took a two point lead through Janis Kaufmanis.

Then Janis Strelnieks sparked incredible scenes as he hit a great jump shot as the clock ran down to 0.47 seconds and, after Lithuania had missed their last ditch long range effort, the entire Latvia bench flooded on to the court to celebrate.

“I feel wonderful” said a near speechless Strelnieks, who had tears in his eyes after the game.

“It’s all I can say, to score the winning basket…wonderful”

Just as it always has been in this tournament this win really was a determined team effort, as despite falling behind in the second half five players scored in double figures – Lauris Mizis leading the way with 14 points and 13 rebounds – to make sure the victory didn’t escape them.

Before that neither side could escape the other as an unbelievably even first half gave absolutely no clue as to who the eventual winners would be and the deadlock between the two teams couldn’t be broken.

Both quarters ended with nothing between the two sides; the first ending 14 each and the half closing with both sides on 34 points.

All that changed was who led and who played catch up in each quarter.

In the first it was Lithuania who had their noses slightly in front, with Latvia hitting three treys through Janis Kaufmanis and Dairis Bertans – who finished with 11 and 14 points

A Bertans three pointer at the buzzer kept parity at the end of the first, before it was the turn of Latvia to lead the way in the second.

They opened up at 30-24 lead before being pegged back by an 8-0 Lithuania run to again end the quarter all square.

Finally the parity broke in the third as Vaidas Cepukaitis – who ended the game with 17 points and 13 boards – and Vytenis Lipkevicius scored eight and five points respectively to lead Lithuania away.

They started a 5-0 run on 7:47 which put them in front and kept them there until 3:05 left in the game.

With just 5:57 to go they had managed to pull away to a decisive looking nine point lead, but four different Latvia players scored the points to bring them level on 67 points with three minutes left and injected the tension straight back into the game.

Two Kaufmanis free shots meant the game was still locked at 70 with 49 seconds left.

Latvia were now into their stride and when Lithuania failed to score on their next play Latvia took their first lead of the second half, again through Kaufmanis, 72-70 with 19 seconds left and Lithuania with the ball.

Charging to the rim Zygimantas Janavicius tied it up yet again with nine seconds left, but as time ticked away Strelnieks downed a jump shot from inside the arc, falling backwards as he shot, and the Latvia team and the crowd went wild in celebration of a well earned medal.

Third place laurel travel to Ventspils

The so called ‘little final’ came without a real certainty about the winner of this game. Both teams matched pretty evenly against each other in practically all positions. The rivals had obvious problems in their yesterday’s losses to Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris. Ventspils displayed poor defense, which was no match to the offensive machinery of Lietuvos Rytas. Siauliai, on the other hand, had an extremely bad start of the game against Zalgiris. The result of this game was likely to be determined by how both teams would cope with the unpleasant experience to improve their performance.
Siaulai were off to a quick start 5:2. While Siaulai played fast basketball, Ventspils had problems with their tempo. Ventspils were slightly better in the post, though, and closed up 7:8 after a great combination with Helmanis in the peak. Pakamanis was a constant threat to Ventspils defense. Both team managed to stay close to each other 12:13. While Ventspils were able to get to front 18:17, it was obvious that they had tangible problems with turnovers. Without Helmanis’ success from behind the arc, it would be complicated for Ventspils to maintain their lead 21:20. Pakamanis continued to display wit and aptitude at the offensive end. Mostly due to his agility, Siauliai were able to finish the first quarter in their favour 27:24. Both opponents had problems with scoring in the beginning of the second quarter. Ventspils were the first to break the disturbing silence. Shannon and Helmanis plugged in some to force the score 32:28. Veselovs started to be increasingly active in the paint; Ventspils widened the difference to 39:33.
Siauliai zone defense did not bring them any good; Vitols finished both in traffic and from distance to maintain 6-point margin 45:39. This was probably emphasized with Pakamanis’ flagrant foul in the 6th minute. It was self-evident that Ventspils were stronger in the post; Cipruss and Veselovs rebounded to first take their lead in double digits 49:39. The teams maintained their positions in the third quarter. Helmains made few defensive stops and Pakamanis continued to contribute to the Siauliai score pile. Although Ventspils and Siauliai did not make changes in the difference on the scoreboard, the Latvian team managed to maintain a notable lead 61:53. Ventspils collective defense worked well against Siauliai offensive effort. This cha6nged. After Cipruss commited a turnover, Siauliai felt the taste of blood to catch up 61:58, obliging Ventspils head coach Muiznieks to use his rights for a time-out. This did improve Latvian prospects, since Klimavicius started to hit his looks around the basket. Soon Ventspils future looked grim, as Siauliai commenced to played inspired ball 61:65. Ruikis put the cherry on the top to end the quarter 65:69. Rivals exchanged with three-pointers in the dawn of the deciding quarter to make the score 71:78. The teams actually compiled 6 (!) 3-pointers in a row. Ventspils tried to increase the tempo, and it brought crops. Gabrans finished in traffic to diminish the gap within a hand reach 78:81. Soon it was 81:81. This was the real challenge for the Siaulai squad: whether they would be able to get back up. They just could not deal with it: Love and Helmanis connected for a 7-0 run for the Latvians, urging Siaulai coaching staff to take a timeout with 2:47 left on the clock and 88-81 on the scoreboard. Ruikis potted a three-pointer for 92-85, but it was too late. Ventspils kept their advantage till the end. Ending score – 94:88
