Latvia thumps Slovenia to move on

Terenss Tomass pamet BK „Ventspils”
Šodien Latviju pameta basketbolists Tomass Terenss. Pirms pāris dienām Basketbola kluba vadība nolēma pārtraukt darba attiecīnas ar BK „Ventspils” spēlētāju Tomasu. Tomass komandai īpaši palīdzēja ULEB kausa regulārajā sezonā vid. vienā sp. gūstot 10.5 punktus, viņš arī BK “Ventspils” sastāvā nopelnīja augstāko lietderības koeficientu. Diemžēl, ne tik spoži sevi spēlētājs parādīja BBL sacensībās vid. spēlē gūstot 7.7 punktus un vid. izcīnot 5.5 bumbas.

Big changes in the reigning SEB BBL champions club BC Zalgiris Kaunas. Head coach Antanas Sireika decided to resign due to unsuccessful team’s play in Euroleague Top-16 tournament where Zalgiris have lost 5 straight games. Legendary team was also forced to recognize their biggest rivals Lietuvos rytas unquestionable strength as Vilnius’ team crushed Zalgiris 98:68. The assistant Gintaras Krapikas also leaves the club.
39 years old Latvian pride Ainaras Bagatskis will be the new head coach of Zalgiris as team’s executives disclosed. A.Bagatskis was Barons/LU playing coach this season. He also have been playing in Zalgiris for 2 seasons and became Lithuanian champion in 2004, 2005. Last year he became SEB BBL champion as well.
